As an independent country singer-songwriter, Katie has been nominated for Song of the Year – Country Female at the 2026 Josie Music Awards for her original song, “Ready to Fly.”

Recognized as one of the leading awards programs celebrating independent music, the nomination marks an exciting milestone for Ziegler and her songwriting career. She will travel to Nashville this September to attend the Josie Music Awards ceremony at the Grand Ole Opry, where artists and industry professionals from across the independent music community will gather to celebrate this year’s nominees.

Song of the Year & Songwriter of the Year

Katie has been named a 2026 Heartland Music Awards nominee in two categories: Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year for her original song, “Ready to Fly.”

The peer-voted awards celebrate musicians and songwriters within the independent music community, making the nominations a meaningful recognition from fellow artists and industry peers.

The first round of voting is currently underway, with finalists set to be announced ahead of the Heartland Music Awards ceremony this November.
