From rural Kansas to the Kansas City music scene, Katie's songs capture real stories, honest emotion, and the beauty of chasing dreams.
Katie Ziegler is an independent singer-songwriter living in the Kansas City metro area whose heart and sound reflect both her rural Kansas upbringing and a determined, modern artistic drive. Raised in a musical family, she began writing songs at age 11 and picked up the guitar at 16, setting the stage for a lifetime of musical storytelling.
In August 2022 Katie released her first single, “He Ain’t Yours,” and followed it with her debut EP titled Residue. Her catalog has since grown, and she continues to build momentum as a songwriter and performer.
Katie’s live résumé goes beyond local gigs — she’s shared the stage opening for well-known acts including the The Bellamy Brothers, Eli Young Band, Billy Dean, Twitty & Lynn, Jerrod Niemann, Cody Canada and The Departed, and Logan Mize, showcasing her trajectory toward bigger stages and broader audiences.
Her path is rooted in humble beginnings: playing at talent shows in her hometown, opening for the Australian CMT recording artists The McClymonts at just 17, and eventually recording songs with Emmy-winning producer/engineer Carter Green in Wellington, Kansas.
In a recent interview she shared:
“I’ve been writing songs since I was 11, and picking up the guitar at 16 was like unlocking a new language. I’m still chasing the moment when a song I wrote in my small town connects with someone on the other side of the world.”
